Biography

With close to 40 years of experience, Alan brings to FL Fuller Landau LLP a wealth of experience and is known for his practical and logical approach to problem-solving. He became a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec in 1979 and completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in-depth tax course in 1982. He also obtained the U.S. Certified Public Accountant designation with the State of Illinois in 1998.

Alan’s expertise addresses clients’ needs in personal income tax, small business development, estate planning, and tax planning relative to compensation. He also assists clients with RRSP planning, trusts for physicians, insurance and will planning as well as new business financing. Alan is very much the hands-on professional who “quarterbacks” for his clients in addressing all of their requirements. His expertise has garnered him a considerable client base which includes a large contingent of professionals, particularly physicians, and small businesses operating in a variety of industries such as importing, exporting, real estate and professional services. He also specializes in the preparation of Canadian tax returns for U.S. investors in Canadian real estate as well as the preparation of U.S. tax returns for Americans residing in Canada. Alan’s knowledge of tax jurisdictions is a key asset to his clients and the firm.
