Katherine Kopytov, CPA

Partner, Assurance

Biography

Katherine Kopytov, CPA, CA began her career at Fuller Landau in 2010, and in 2015 brings to the partnership over 15 years of public practice experience.

During the course of her career, Katherine has dealt with complex accounting mandates, which required extensive research and tailored application. Furthermore, her knowledge of IFRS (international financial reporting standards) puts her at the forefront of this specialty within the firm and is our resident ‘go-to’ resource for this standard.

Katherine is always eager to learn and encourages constant training within the firm; providing support, depth and mentoring to not only the audit team members, but to the Firm’s Quality Control department as well. “In our industry, accounting rules and tax regulations are constantly changing, so you have to keep up to stay ahead. I also think it’s important to teach and involve the team members so that their careers can grow. Benjamin Franklin said it best “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.””

Katherine’s experience stems from clients who come from various Canadian and International companies, with a focus on manufacturing, importing, real-estate and not-for-profits. Client service is very important to her. “I want to be my clients’ first phone call when there is an issue; the person they think of and trust, be it a bank referral, to discuss a new business initiative or simply to share a story.” She prides herself on her quick response time and willingness to assist her clients regardless of the time of day. “If it’s important to them, then it’s important to me. Finding them the answer or the right contact is what drives me”. Katherine also has the ability to find the humor or silver lining in many situations.
