Partner, Tax Services

Biography

When David recently joined FL Fuller Landau LLP, he wanted to bring his problem-solving skills to the table. “That’s my strength. I like to look beyond the numbers and find solutions when none seem readily apparent. For me, that’s the most satisfying part of my work,” says David, who brings close to 40 years of income tax practice in a medium sized accounting firm. “I also think personal dynamics play an important role. I make a point of developing a strong rapport with my clients to build a sense of trust. I want them to feel that I’m there for them.”

His invaluable contribution to the Tax Services department includes meeting a diversity of client needs particularly in areas such as estate planning and corporate restructuring. He brings to FL his knowledge of U.S. tax laws relative to Canadian individuals and U.S. estate planning as it affects Canadian citizens in the U.S. and U.S. residents in Canada.

“One of my core skills is personal tax and estate planning, which represent a large part of my practice. My clients appreciate a thorough analysis of complex tax issues and my ability to provide a simplified planning guide,” he says. You can count on David to meticulously examine areas such as tax minimization, trust planning and succession of family businesses. “I’m the kind of person who loves to pore over details. And when it comes to tax planning, I think my clients will agree that a vigilant eye is definitely a plus.”
